Smoky Mountains National Park -- You
can hike many miles of trails with their breathtaking views, picnic beside streams and
waterfalls, and observe the Park's wildlife, including the largest variety of birds found
in the United States. Near the Cherokee entrance onf 441 North, you can visit an old pioneer farmestead and working grist mill.

Whitewater
Rafting -- Several outfitters provide rentals and guides in the Nantahala Gorge,
approximately 15 minutes from Bryson City.
Horseback Riding -- Rentals are available for guided riding on designated trails in the Smokies.

Ridge Parkway -- 469
miles of scenic highway from the southern entrance in Cherokee.
Take the parkway North to Gatlinburg, about 45 minutes, and visit
Clingmans Dome on the way, or take the less traveled direction to
Waynesville, and enjoy the scenic overlooks.

Fontana Dam and Reservoir -- Highest dam in eastern America. Several marinas and public landings provide access to excellent fishing and boating.
Mountain Biking -- Trails abound in the Smokies. The famous Tsali
Mountain Bike Trails are just 20 minutes from Bryson City.

Indian Reservation -- Several attractions including the outdoor drama "Unto
These Hills" presented evenings June through August; Oconoluftee Indian Village,
recreating authentic Indian lifestyles as practiced over 200 years ago; the Museum
of the Cherokee Indian; and Harrah's Casino.
Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest -- The largest stand of virgin hardwood remaining in eastern America. Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest
Great Smoky Mountain Railway -- Scenic
excursion train ride through the Nantahala Gorge departing from Dillsboro or Bryson City. Great Smoky Mountain Railway
Golf -- A
spectacular course, the Smoky Mountain Golf Club, is minutes away in Whittier, between Cherokee and Bryson City. Several
other courses are close by.

Shopping and Antique
Hunting -- Bryson
City has some fine shops, and "shopping headquarters",
the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area, is a 45 minute scenic drive.
Shop for mountain crafts in Dillsboro, and of course, Cherokee has a
variety of stores.
Biltmore House, Gardens
and Winery -- The 255 room mansion, the Asheville home of George
Vanderbilt, is a favorite day trip from the Inn.
